Ok ok what I'm about to say may not sound ground breaking, but it is - IF YOU FOLLOW THROUGH:
Achievement of your goals lies in taking action.
There's literally no other way.
It's no secret is it? To get 'fit', we can't just buy the gym membership. We actually have to go to the gym, work-out and eat healthy to boot. We can dream all we want (and it's an essential part of goal setting), but action is what creates the shift towards accomplishment.
Hold on a second though - did you feel a twinge of overwhelm settle in right there?
Did it just get a little clearer that you - no one else - is in charge of your own dreams?
I'm serious about this 'hold on' stuff because that's what often happens - we hold on, we think, we overthink, and then we freeze. Can we agree to try something new this round?
Have you ever heard of the power of small, daily steps? This consistent nurturing of our goal is what'll push it (and us) towards a new reality. But daily steps start with a first step... let's get you there first shall we?
Take a moment (this one right here), to think about your why:
'Why do I want to accomplish this goal? What will it feel like? What positive outcomes are waiting?"
(If you haven't read my previous post on goals, you'll want to here - it explains how to get to the feeling part of this).
Once you're in touch with your why and you can feel the effect of the positive outcomes, you've lit your inner fire. (This fire may need to be stoked over and over again so feel free to come back to your why whenever you need to.) With this fire lit, take your first step. When?
Now.
Taking action opens up momentum y’all!
Don't wait till tomorrow - there's thousands of tomorrow's and if you're reading this, you've likely used many of them up already.
Take your first step now.
It doesn't have to be big but it does have to happen.
Return to your work from my previous post on How To Set The Goals and remind yourself of your next action steps.
If you feel overwhelmed by looking at your action steps, break them down into smaller, daily steps.
There's no need to burn out working towards our goals but there IS a need to continue working towards them.
(And please, don't be afraid to re-start.)
Being in alignment with what you want is all the real life, superhero feels. It’s literally the best feeling ever and my little one is here to demonstrate the inner strength that comes right along with that.
If you find you need help overcoming inertia or overwhelm, I'd love to support you. Sometimes, in order to move forward we need to break down the fears that are holding us hostage and to do that well, support is essential. You can reach me at donna@unleashyourlegacy.com
